Your Shadow Self
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people.” “What you resist, persists.” Carl Jung
It seems within the fetish and kink community that people have integrated their shadow. That they are operating in the things that many hide away for fear of judgement.
But is this true? We will know it truly isn’t for many. Many are hiding this side of themselves. For some it’s simply “private”, or need to know basis!
For some they may have become Dominant or submissive due to now integrating their shadow. Like if you was told you are too bossy all your childhood…you may now operate in a submissive role to feel more “acceptable”.
In the spiritual community, shadow work has become the go to for what we all need to do to become our best versions. Along with inner child work.
It’s interesting to look at. Some find it too traumatic. For some it’s where the key to their true liberation lies. Where their greatest version emerges. Free of any guilt or shame.
For me it hasn’t been a one off process. It’s ongoing. I don’t shadow work journal. I work with my higher self for things to come up to be integrated when the time is right to assist my healing at that point.
But if you are going to do shadow work… make sure you choose a way that is right for you ❤️
